Amanda

Amanda has been the Head Coach of Orca Synchro for the last 7 years. She has been coaching for 17 years at various clubs and levels in Edmonton and Alberta. She swam competitively for 8 years prior to becoming a coach and swam for another 3 years as a masters swimmer.  She is also an official with Alberta Artistic Swimming.  She loves seeing the swimmers and coaches work hard and succeed at achieving their goals. Her focus has been on making the Orca club into a family. Outside of Orca, she has a family of her own, with 4 children keeping her busy.  She is eager to see all the swimmers back in the pool and is looking forward to meeting all the new swimmers and their families.

Cass

Cass is a longstanding member of the Orca family.  She started as a swimmer and swam for 7 years and is now entering her 7th year of coaching! She loves everything the club stands for and wants to help our swimmers grow their skills and abilities while maintaining the community Orca has built over the years.  Cass just graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts degree and is the Training Admin for the Canadian Brewhouse.  Forever learning, Cass cannot wait to see what this year is going to bring!

She is especially excited to get back in the pool after a long year and a half of Zoom practices. Outside of the pool, she is starting her 4th year of post-secondary, studying Anthropology at the U of A.

Annaleise

Annaleise will be coaching one of the Orca Star teams this season. She is a certified Competition Introduction coach, and this will be her fifth year coaching; before that, she swam competitively for 5 years. Coaching is one of her biggest passions because it allows her to connect with incredible people through a sport she absolutely loves. Outside of Artistic Swimming, she is a full-time university student working towards her Social Work Degree and a big gym-goer because she loves weight lifting!  Her hope for this season is to create a safe, fun and challenging environment where the athletes can enjoy Artistic Swimming. She cannot wait to see the Orca family back at the pool!

This summer, she worked as a counsellor at an outdoor education summer camp. She is a full-time student at the University of Alberta in her second year in the Faculty of Secondary Education. Her goal for this year is to ensure that everyone has a positive, safe and accomplished year, filled with great memories and new skills. She looks forward to seeing everyone at the pool!
