Orca Synchro summer camp 2008

Monday, August 25
Tuesday, August 26, and
Thursday, August 28

Summer camp #1: Intro to Synchro
6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
• no synchro experience required
• $45

Summer camp #2: Building on the Basics
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• swimmer has passed synchro Star 1 or 2 level (approximately tier 1)
• $60

Summer camp #3: Synchro with Experience
featuring Laura Mumme, Nova Synchro head coach
6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
• swimmer has synchro Star 3 level or higher (approximately tier 2 or up)
• $90

Laura Mumme is a level 2 coach and has coached for the Nova Synchronized Swimming Club at the U of A pool for the past four years. Currently she is a co-head coach of Nova as well as a tier 3 team and tier 2 duet coach. Before that she sub-coached for a year with everyone from little 8-year-old pre-comps to 75-year-old master swimmers. She was a competitive synchronized swimmer for eight years, swimming one year with the Edmonton Auroras and the rest with Nova. She competed on the first national "open" team in Alberta at Nova from 2001 to 2003. She's a recent U of A graduate pursuing a career in physiotherapy, hoping to combine her love for the water with rehabilitation. She's looking forward to sharing her knowledge and passion for synchronized swimming with Orca Synchro parents and swimmers.

The University of Alberta is offering their popular Beyond Synchro camp for tiers 1 to 6 (at least Star 1) July 21 to 25. See page 7 in their summer camp guide.
The University of Alberta is also offering a competitive swimming camp from July 7 to 11 or July 28 to August 1. Click Aquatics in their summer camp guide.
Edmonton Auroras are offering tier testing camps after school for a week in June and a summer camp July 14 to 18 at the Kinsmen Sports Centre and one August 18 to 22 in St. Albert.
